Dash Away #18 Recap – Crieff/Perthshire

We are a little late with a recap this week because, honestly, we are exhausted!  Now that we are finished with our ministry weekends, the pace we’ve kept over the past 6 weeks has caught up with us. We are so ready for time to rest and to process what has happened over the past several weeks. Our final … Continue reading

Dash Away #17 Recap – Seamill 2

After a wee rest in Peterhead we were on the road again back to the YWAM base in Seamill/West Kilbride on the west coast of Scotland.  The YWAM staff is outstanding! With a smaller than usual group on base, we saw the base leaders vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms before our group arrived. They also cooked for us and … Continue reading

Dash Away #16 Recap – Hawick

This past weekend took us to Hawick, located in the Scottish Borders region about 90 minutes south of Edinburgh. This is the region noted for production of wool, knits and cashmere. You can certainly see that by the number of sheep which dot pretty much every single hill.  Thousands upon thousands of sheep and baby … Continue reading

Dash Away #15 Recap – Ireland

Well, for lack of adequate adjectives, Dash Away #15 was incredible! We had a few “day of” cancellations and changes, but it was ok. God had an assignment for each of the ladies who came. For whose who didn’t come, I’m thinking once they start hearing what they missed, they will be sorely disappointed. This … Continue reading

A Few Days in Armagh

Armagh is located about an hour southwest of Belfast. It is said to be the first place St. Patrick began evangelizing Western Europe. There are two cathedrals which bear his name in the city; one is Protestant (Church of Ireland) the other is Catholic.  On the site of the Protestant cathedral, it is said that … Continue reading

Dash Away #14 Recap – Seamill 1

We keep wishing that the English language had words adequate enough to describe what we experienced and what we saw take place in the lives of these 13 ladies who attended DA 14. Continue reading

Testimonies from Taste of Dash Away – Fraserburgh

Since we arrived on Wednesday, we’ve experienced winter all over again. The highest it’s gotten thus far is about 12C/53F but the average has been 5C/42F. Today, I (Melinda) and our friend and hostess, Heather, braved the 60mph wind and hail/rain to walk about 5 miles to and around the golf course by the sea … Continue reading

Taste of Dash Away – Fraserburgh, Scotland

This morning, we kicked off our first weekend of ministry with a Taste of Dash Away in Fraserburgh, just Cynthia Hayesnorth of where we are staying while in Peterhead. We were so honored that 25 ladies came! Most of them had no idea what they were coming to, but they came anyway because of the invitation of our friend, Cynthia Hayes, whom we met at the CLAN Women Gathering in Edinburgh last October. Continue reading

Here We Go…

We left this beautiful land just 6 short months ago, and now, here we are again. Back in bonnie Scotland with 6 weekends of ministry lined up. So much fruit has already come from our last journey across the pond. We wonder what God in store as a result of this trip with over 80 ladies embarking on their own Dash Away Journey. We haven’t brought anything special in our back pockets. We are simply creating a space for encounter. This is all about connecting them with Him and the cool thing about it is that He is even more excited about their time together than they are! Continue reading
