This morning, we kicked off our first weekend of ministry with a Taste of Dash Away in Fraserburgh, just north of where we are staying while in Peterhead. We were so honored that 25 ladies came! Most of them had no idea what they were coming to, but they came anyway because of the invitation of our friend, Cynthia Hayes, whom we met at the CLAN Women Gathering in Edinburgh last October.
The invitation to come to Fraserburgh came after our other weekends were already scheduled, but because of its close proximity to Peterhead, we were able to pull it off. And we are so thankful we did.
The ladies who attended were from a variety of churches in the area, some of whom are in leadership in those churches and with Women’s Aglow. The response was overwhelmingly positive. God is always so much more eager to spend time with us than we are to spend time with Him. Today was no exception. His Presence was palpable and He met with His daughters powerfully.
Several of the ladies expressed a desire to have a full Dash Away when we return. One was so eager to schedule not one, but two Dash Away’s that she was trying really hard to get us to work at least one of them into our current trip.
Although that isn’t possible, we are humbled and honored that she is so hungry for the full Dash Away experience, not only for herself, but for several ladies in her sphere of influence. We continue to be amazed at the open doors here in the UK for Dash Away, and this is only the beginning of our trip.
The home where we met this morning was absolutely lovely. These green fields of sheep and their baby lambs were the view we had from the large living room window. It was powerful leading the ladies in singing “All Creatures of our God and King” with this majestic view of God’s creatures enjoying His creation.
The lady of the house is willing to allow us to use her home to provide accommodation for a full Dash Away in the future. It is likely that we would use it for more than one weekend as the desire stirred from this Taste of Dash Away alone has the potential to turn into many retreats in this area.
God is moving among the women in the northeast of Scotland. And since He has already planted us here with community, we are seeking His heart for us here in this region. Time will tell. The trip is still very young. We are expecting great things!
